Mary McLeod Bethune Statue Walking Tour Recap

On Saturday, July 24, approximately 30 of your fellow Ward 6 Dems joined local tour guide and historian Robert Pohl in Lincoln Park to learn more about Mary McLeod Bethune, one of our Women of Ward 6. Although she didn’t live or work in Ward 6, Bethune holds a special place of honor in DC (and in Lincoln Park) for her lifelong work as an educator, for founding the National Council of Negro Women, and for being part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s “Black Cabinet."

You can learn more about Mary McLeod Bethune and all our Women of Ward 6 on our website.

Thanks to Marci Hilt for organizing this entertaining and informative event!
