In the spring of 2024, Councilmember Brooke Pinto, chair of the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, proposed the Secure DC Act, an omnibus bill, which contains over 100 interventions intended to improve public safety. It was signed into law about a year ago.
CM Pinto will join the Ward 6 Dems to discuss what's in the bill and the impact it has had on crime, public safety, and the criminal legal system in DC in the past year.
Date: Monday, April 7
Time: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: Virtual, link provided upon registration
CM Pinto will provide an overview of the provisions of the Secure DC Act, after which she will take questions. You can submit your questions in advance to ward6dems@gmail.com. We will start with questions submitted in advance and, if there's time, take questions live from the attendees.
